EULA
Scope of These App License Terms
These App License Terms apply to downloadable Direct Control Lab applications, including host apps, controller apps, companion apps, desktop apps, mobile apps, and app updates. They supplement the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
For apps obtained through an Apple marketplace, Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies unless Apple presents a custom EULA. These terms provide additional product-specific notices for the Direct Control Lab service and should be read together with Apple's app license terms and our Terms of Service.
Apple platform
Apple Acknowledgement
You acknowledge that these terms are between you and Direct Control Lab, not Apple. Direct Control Lab, not Apple, is responsible for the app, the service, and the content of the app, except where Apple's own terms or platform services apply.
Nothing in these terms changes Apple's marketplace terms, Apple Media Services terms, or any rights Apple has as app marketplace operator, payment processor, or platform provider.
Use rights
Limited License
Subject to your compliance with these terms and the Terms of Service, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the app for personal, professional, or internal business use on devices you own or control, or as otherwise permitted by the platform's usage rules.
For Apple marketplace downloads, the license is limited to Apple-branded products that you own or control and as permitted by Apple's usage rules, including applicable Family Sharing or volume purchasing rights where supported.
- You may use the app only with lawful authorization to access the host computer or account.
- You may not sublicense, rent, lease, sell, resell, host, outsource, or commercially provide the app as a managed service without written permission.
- You may not copy, modify, translate, create derivative works from, reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code except where applicable law allows it despite this restriction.
- You may not remove or obscure proprietary notices, license notices, security prompts, permission prompts, or attribution notices.
Support owner
Maintenance and Support
Direct Control Lab is responsible for maintenance and support for the app as described in the support materials, these terms, and applicable law. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support services for the app.
Support requests should be sent through https://compcontroll.org/support or by contacting support@compcontroll.org.
Platform rule
Warranty and Apple Refund Notice
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the app is provided as is and as available. We disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, uninterrupted operation, and error-free operation.
For Apple-distributed apps, if the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty that cannot be disclaimed, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price for the app according to Apple's policies. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app. Any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses attributable to a failure to conform to a warranty are our responsibility to the extent required by law.
Responsibility
Product Claims
Direct Control Lab, not Apple, is responsible for addressing claims relating to the app or your possession and use of the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, consumer protection claims, privacy claims, and similar claims.
You remain responsible for lawful use of remote sessions, device permissions, the information visible during sessions, and compliance with workplace, school, customer, or device-owner policies.
IP
Intellectual Property Claims
If a third party claims that the app or your possession and use of the app infringes that party's intellectual property rights, Direct Control Lab, not Apple, is responsible for investigating, defending, settling, and discharging the claim to the extent required by applicable law.
Open-source software included in the app remains governed by its own license terms. Those open-source terms may grant rights in addition to these App License Terms.
Restrictions
Legal Compliance and Export
You represent and warrant that you are not located in a country or region subject to a U.S. Government embargo and are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
You must comply with all laws that apply to your use of the app, including export control laws, sanctions laws, privacy laws, computer crime laws, telecommunications rules, workplace monitoring rules, and laws governing remote access to devices and networks.
Other services
Third-Party Terms
You must comply with applicable third-party terms when using the app, including Apple platform terms, marketplace terms, payment processor terms, operating-system terms, browser terms, network provider terms, mobile carrier terms, cloud provider terms, and open-source license terms.
The app may depend on third-party services for payments, crash reporting, diagnostics, signaling, relay connectivity, support, hosting, and distribution. Those services may change or become unavailable.
Apple rights
Apple as Third-Party Beneficiary
For Apple marketplace downloads, Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these App License Terms. Upon your acceptance of these terms, Apple has the right to enforce these App License Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
Sensitive access
Remote Control Permissions
The app may request sensitive permissions such as screen recording, local network access, camera access for QR scanning, accessibility control, input monitoring, automation, microphone access, or file access depending on platform and enabled features.
Grant permissions only on devices you own or control, or where you have clear authority from the device owner. Revoke permissions when they are no longer needed.
End of license
Termination
This license continues until terminated. It terminates automatically if you violate these App License Terms, the Terms of Service, platform rules, or applicable law. Upon termination, you must stop using the app and delete copies under your control unless retention is required by law.
Termination of the app license does not automatically cancel an Apple subscription or web subscription. Cancel subscriptions through the billing surface that processed the purchase.
